Death Hex

This game is heavily inspired by computer games like Risk of Rain, Dungeon of the Endless, and Project Zomboid. These games are difficult and often times unbeatable.

Death Hex also drew inspiration from Spirit Island where players control complex characters that have outsized effects on the gameboard. Specifically the preference of some player to have specific cards over others.

In Death Hex the game board increases in size by adding new hexes to the perimeter. Zombies spawn proportional to the number of hexagons on the perimeter and therefore as the game progresses the circumference of the game board increases until whatever progress the player has made is snuffed out.

This game is still online and will require many tweaks to see that the mechanics allow for a group to flourish and eventually lose in a engaging way.

More than anything, this game is a game marker’s challenge at this point.
